• How much does a live-in caregiver cost?
  Our live-in caregivers work for at least provincial standard minimum wage, based on a forty-hour work week. The caregiver also pays the employer $325/month for room and board. The cost to the employer is approximately $1200/month (in BC), all said and done. When compared to the costs of home care visits or day care services, employing a live-in caregiver just makes sense.
• How long does it take to hire a caregiver from overseas?
  After an employment contract is in place and is approved by Human Resources Development Canada (4 weeks), it takes about 2-3 months for the work authorization process to be completed to allow the caregiver to come to Canada.
• What about post-placement support?
  SureWork Solutions will follow-up on all placements and offer customer service to the family and the caregiver should the need arise. Our caregivers are well versed in Canadian culture, and prepared to adjust to any environment.  They have the live-in care work experience and are able to adapt well to their new situation.  Pre-placement advice will also be provided to the families who have decided to use our live-in caregiver services.
