Live-In Caregiver Program

For long-term in-home senior care, there is no better option than the Federal Government’s Live-in Caregiver Program. This program allows the family to hire an overseas caregiver to help with domestic and personal care needs: anything that the client would require to remain comfortable in their own home.

Cost

The cost for a live-in caregiver is about $1500/month. This is the net cost to the client based on a 40-hour work week.

The program is set-up for the caregiver to reside in a room in the house of the client, and to provide for the care needs of the client. Residing in the house also means that there is someone there overnight in case of emergency.

Care Schedule

The schedule can be tailored to the individual client. Typically, the live-in caregiver will work an 8-hour split shift, providing help in the morning into the afternoon, then with the evening meal and preparation for bed. The caregiver also resides in the home of the client, and can be called on in case there is a need overnight.

For clients that require more than 8 hours of care per day, there is the option to have two live-in caregivers working

Our company works with caregiver training centres all over the world and can offer our clients here caregivers of different nationalities with different backgrounds (all English speakers of course!) from medically trained nurses to more domestically focused caregivers. We can provide one (or two) of caregiver(s) of your choice to work for you so that you can remain as independent as possible as long as possible.

This long-term solution can be in place within 3 – 4 months, and if you require immediate care, we can arrange our temporary live-in caregivers to bridge this gap.
