Selena and Jane work together as live-in with my mother in Mechosin, who is in her late 90s. They both work 40 hours per week, and some paid overtime. They are kind, caring and encouraging with my mother, and assist with personal care, dressing, cooking and anything my mother needs help with. Selena also accompanies my mother to church or to community lunches as needed – sometimes driving her. I am happy to recommend them as caregivers from SureWork Solutions. They are bright, with a good sense of humour, willing attitudes and good company for my mother in the evenings as well.

Our parents both have health issues that make it difficult for them to manage totally on their own at home. We contacted SureWorks and interviewed Jane Zhou as a temporary caregiver for them. We also requested a full-time caregiver and Ben started the process of finding someone from the Philippines.
Jane is an honest, cheerful, personable and very hard-working caregiver. Jane was quick to help out wherever the need arose at my parent’s home. She regularly anticipated what needed to be done and would get to it before being asked. Her wisdom and comfort with people was very evident in the way she interacted with our parents. My parents and siblings were sad to see her leave as she was such a kind presence. Her sense of humour was a bonus.
Jane left once our new caregiver arrived in Canada. We were told that the process of getting a permanent caregiver would take 3 to 4 months and it took about 3 ½ months. We are happy with our new caregiver, and we miss Jane.

Our caregiver arrived at our home in North Saanich on January 15, and at the time I must say I was very happy to receive some assistance with my wife, who, in the past, had had a series of small strokes. My wife was unable to drive, prepare meals, clean the house or even to exercise adequately without my assistance.
Now, our situation has changed radically.
From the time Echo arrived she formed a strong bond with my wife and was able to provide friendship that was very helpful in our household. There is no doubt in my mind of that, as Echo took over many of the household activities that Ruth had previously carried out. Both Ruth and I were very busy in the community at large prior to her strokes. Echo was considerate and was able to provide meals that were appropriate for the two of us. She maintained the house appropriately and looked after our dog, although he brought in much clutter in his long shaggy hair. She became his friend and was followed from room to room as she carried out her work. We have always laughed a lot in our house and Echo has a great sense of humour that has encouraged that to continue.
About a month ago, Ruth fell and broke her hip and Echo spent many days with her in the hospital as she underwent surgery, and then recuperation. Echo watched, assisted in her treatment and applied what she learned when Ruth returned home after a two week stay. Since then Echo has assisted in Ruth's recovery and now has her walking, standing up from her chair, and climbing the few stairs we have. Ruth's rapid improvement is no doubt the result of those exercise walks in February and March when Echo insisted that Ruth walk every day.
I am very impressed with the strength of character and positive attitude that Echo brought to our household. Having her join us was a good decision.

The caregiver, Andy, provided by SureWork Solutions arrived in our home on November 6 2008. With determination she wanted to get to work immediately. Her professional training had equipped her with the tools needed to be very efficient. She was very helpful in the caregiving to my wife who was 85 years old and very ill but still quite responsive. Both my wife and I appreciated her talents, were very happy with her kindness and very pleased with her general attitude.
She is very efficient around the house. She can take good initiatives when it is appropriate. Her proficiency in the English language is very good and improving fast. She is very collaborative and flexible.
